What this site is for
NoToLana.com is a non-commercial advocacy site run by an independent citizen campaign. It lets people send one fixed letter to public officials, asking them not to support Lana Nusseibeh’s candidacy for UN Secretary-General, and it collects the public record behind that request. The site is free to use.
Who we are not
The campaign is not affiliated with any government, political party, the United Nations or any person named on this site. Nothing here is official UN or government communication.
Using the letter tool
When you use the tool, you agree that:
- You use your own email account. You do not sign in with an account that belongs to someone else.
- You are responsible for the messages sent from your account. Nothing is sent until you press Send, so press it only if you agree with the letter.
- The text of the letter is fixed. The only thing you can add is your name.
- You are old enough to hold the account you use and to be bound by these terms.
What is not allowed
You may not:
- use scripts, bots or other automation to send letters or to increase the counters;
- try to get around the bot protection, sending limits or any other safeguard;
- send messages that harass or threaten anyone, or use the tool for anything other than this campaign;
- collect or scrape the list of recipients for another purpose;
- interfere with the site, its servers or other people’s use of it.
We may block access, or stop a send, where we believe these rules are being broken.
Third-party services and delivery
Sending relies on Google (sign-in and Gmail), Cloudflare and Firebase. Their own terms apply to your use of them, and Gmail’s own sending limits may apply to your account. We cannot guarantee that every message is delivered, read or answered. See our Privacy Policy for how your data is handled.
Content on the site
The site quotes public statements, reports and news coverage. Each is attributed to the person or organisation that made it, and most link to the original. Allegations are presented as allegations made by those who made them, and the responses and denials we know of are included. Views stated as the campaign’s own are our opinion. Third-party material, such as photographs, quotations and reports, remains the property of its owners.
If you believe something on the site is wrong or should be corrected, write to us at contact@notolana.com and we will look at it.
No warranty
The site and the tool are provided “as is”, without any promise that they will be available, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. Recipient details come from public sources and may be out of date. We make no promise about the effect of the campaign or about any response from recipients.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the people who run NoToLana.com are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or the tool, including indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to the site and to these terms
We may change, suspend or end the site or the tool at any time. We may also update these terms. The new version applies from the date shown at the top of this page, and using the site after that date means you accept it.
Governing principles
These terms are governed by international human rights principles and by the local laws that apply to you, including your rights as a consumer where you live.
